Carbonite Quest seems to be popular but is a bit or a resource hog. You can try using a few smaller addons to make up for the one. Just browse the quest addons here. The only reason that Questhelper is so popular is because it's right at the top of the list and people have a tendancy to just pick what is right in front of them.

What AddOn for quests do you recommend other then QuestHelper?

Just use a previous version. Or even better just use an alternative. Since Questhelper is outdated and buggy it will most likely not make it into WotLK so it's best to move on now since it may only have a few weeeks lifetime left.
