I received the new password by email, but when I logged in and went to my profile to change my password I got this error message:

A server error has occurred.

If you don't mind helping us resolve the problem, please go Support Page and file a ticket or to the Bug Reporting Forum and make a post regarding what you were trying to do at the time you were directed to this page.

i got the ew reser curse ID password...but when i tried changing my password. it would not work

The email with your new password should look like this:

Dear Prodigal,
Your CurseID password has been reset. To login, simply enter your username or e-mail address and the following password: ######
We encourage you to change this password as soon as you login.

Where the ###### is your new password you need to log in. We have located a problem with the company our mail is sent through and have made them aware of the issue. It seems a large number of the emails they send are just being dropped.

ditto! I sent in a trouble ticket on 3/20/09 and haven't gotten an answer in "my account" Im not sure what email I used to sign up, but I have checked the ones I usually use and have received no emails at all (yes, i checked spam folders too) i have looked thru my profile and was hoping to find what my registered email is, but I can't seem to find that info? I'm assuming I'm checking the right one, because I have a email reset from curse dated Nov 08 in my saved stuff.

-thought I'd also add... I just clicked recover password again. and typed in what I'm pretty sure is the correct email (after all I have an old recover password email to that address) and nothing happens after I click recover password. the screen doesnt change, its like I never clicked? Im doing this from another cptr that is not logged into the forum. (This one is set to auto log in)

I'm having that issue as well and the password reset just doesn't work. I received my first e-mail...clicked link. Received second e-mail which does not give me a new generated password...instead loads the log in now page.This was all yesterday morning.

Sent an email to support but nothing yet. So, tried again but no luck. Now I made another account similar username to my old. Is there a way to REMOVE my original e-mail off of curse account database or the account in general? Because I really don't want to receive any more newsletters from my old e-mail.

Already submitted a ticket.

If you receive more than one temporary password in your email, you should use the mose recent one as the older temporary passwords are invalid.

Same with me I can write here but I can not do any updating or new addons .
Have tryed several times to get new password but get none from curse!

Same here...can't retrieve password. However I never changed it anyways and always did an auto log-in. I did notice a few days ago when i started my computer tat there was an error in the exe file taht popped up, and now the site wont let me in.

kk followed instuctions and then waited for a temp password to hit my mail box. So when i got the temp password and used it to change to new passord i errored out. Three times it kept telling me there was a problem, not with having a wrong password just it would not process to change the temp password.

The process should work as follows:

Click the 'Forgot my password' link
Receive email with a link to follow
Verify email by clicking the link
You are redirected to the login page
Get the new password from your email (a 2nd email), and use it to log into the site
Change your password to something you will remember in Account Settings / Sign in info

If you do not receive the emails, please check your spam folder. If you can white list an email sender in your mail provider, add noreply@curse.com to the white list to make sure it doesn't get marked as spam.
