My ACTUAL problem was that I did not have enough hard drive space for the addon. It just happened to work after I did that because I tried a mod that happened to be smaller.

Check to make sure you have enough hard drive space where you are trying to install the addon.

Best of luck!

Re: Fail to install addons with Client

Was having this issue but I went to Tools -> Clean SavedVariables

BertramWW, it does indeed sound like a permission issue.

Please try running the client as administrator as this issue could be caused by lacking write permissions to the addon directory, although it could be cause by network issues. I will be adding extra code today to try and detect and report local folder permission problems better.

i now have the same issue... :( before 14 or maybe 16hours , i could updating my addons , now all fails...

and yes on my system (vista32) the client runs as admin..

*edit on*

just tried to "re-install" the curse profiler , it WORKED! (so i think i have no permisson issues.. because it worked)

but the other Addons are failing :(

Re: Fail to install addons with Client

tnedor, check your inbox please.

Re: Fail to install addons with Client

Yeah, if there are multiple ips involved that'd cause an issue.

Re: Fail to install addons with Client

Since he is on macox, I doubt it's an administrator issue.

OS: MacOS X 10.5.6

Client: 3.0.0.3.2

However, my problem seems to stem, I think, from my internet connection .. I have a multiple ISPs connected to a single router which load balances my connection. If I force all my internet connections to be sent through any single ISP, it seems to work fine. The problem comes I think when the router selects a different connection for each outgoing attempt. In that case I often get the "failed to download" message.

If curse communicates over a specific port, I can set the router to push all outgoing traffic to that destination port over the single connection. I have not however researched this much further than what I listed earlier. I might go through my router logs and try to determine the destination port, and try this solution. In the meantime, when I need to upgrade, I just change

Re: Fail to install addons with Client

I am running Vista and having the same problem, can't do a single download, everything fails.
