how to overcome MMO addiction

Just kidding. ^^ But it is currently debated whether gaming addiction (both console and online) should be considered a psychological illness or not.

good friends will help you overcome your addiction to MMOs... that is if you have a friend... just kidding. lol! ^^v

Report this thread post

yes a support from your friends is a good way to overcome this addiction, sometimes players' reason why they are addicted is becuase they are alone

Report this thread post

MMOs are basically an output of people's insecurities cuz you can be whoever you wanna be and nobody will know if youre telling the truth or not :D

Report this thread post

ya..sometimes you'll never if that person's identity is real or not...they do that just to make a scene or attention

You're male, right Reimaru? Ever tried playing a girl avatar and seducing men to give you rare items and legendary mounts?

Aaaaaanyway, back to topic.

My cousin tried to control his addiction to Ragnarok Online years ago by spending his allowance on so many other things so he won't have enough money to load up his account. Only side-effect was he couldn't sit still and concentrate.

costly but effective..but still it really hurts the wallet lol

Doesn't Reimaru have any rehabilitation ideas?

Report this thread post

my ideas are top secret...you need high level clearance

Anyway, let's get back to overcoming MMO addiction, shall we?

Try to force to think that there's nothing to benefit in real life from online games.

Report this thread post

well there is

you can meet new friends, learn to improve your reflexes, able to improve your communication skills and many more

you just have to think the positive way, don't always think negative on mmos

Report this thread post

That is why called it an addict ^^

Report this thread post

But there are still more penalties than benefits in MMO's. Shattered real-life relationships and all.

Report this thread post

that's the consequence if you're not managing your commitments

but giving balance to gaming and to other commitments will give you a steady life and relationship

Report this thread post

Then again my first two relationships were from an MMORPG. XD

Report this thread post

well that was nice

consider yourself lucky to meet someone special in mmos

Report this thread post

And now you're the second special someone i met. At least I now have a personal life-sized teddy bear.

Report this thread post

I totally gave up playing WoW when I realised that my work is so damn interesting, that I cannot come on time for the raid.

Report this thread post

wow that's a good start, maybe your new job revolves on your interests or hobbies

Report this thread post

Good for you. ^^ And I've heard that raids are the main reason for WoW's existence.

Report this thread post

raids is one of the best assest in any mmos

Report this thread post

I wish Atlantica Online would have raids too.

Report this thread post

Get your board and ride the wave ^^

AO has raids you know, individual, guild and nation dungeons can be considered raids

Report this thread post

But they're not really spent for, are they? I mean not as seriously taken as the ones in WoW.
