WARNING ON EA PRE ORDERS

DO NOT ORDER, ESPECIALLY PREORDER GAMES FROM EA
I ordered a pre-order from them on the Collectors Edition online. My husband lost his credit card and we had to get one reissued. EA has absolutely no contact via any kind of phone number - its all automated, online. I tried to email their support and they gave me an auto response asking for more information (3 times) and when I sent it they never responded again. The only response I did get was the notice that I would NOT be allowed to update my billing information prior to shipment, that I would have to CANCEL the order and reorder it. When I told the obvious that the Coll Ed was not available for "reordering" they dismissed me and never responded. I emailed the President, Frank Gibeau but my message came back "delayed" so I assume that will never get to him. When I tried to contact through their PR portal, the thing errors and doesn't ever let you submit your message. Back in the days of UO this is the same "wonderful" customer service we received over and over again and it would appear that nothing has changed. I wanted to make sure anyone who is ordering this game, or who may have lost their card prior to ship on the pre-orders is aware that if they ordered through EA you will be treated the same as I have been and you will not be able to update your billing info.

I posted a blog about this, and posted my epic email exchange on several forums. I moved in the five month interval between CE preorders and now (last week, actually) and when I tried to update my address, they merely canceled my preorder. I've also emailed the Consumerist, on advice from one of my forum replies, and sent them my exchange. Maybe with enough voices raised in anger, something will get through.
