Once upon a time I had a mod that let me add notes that would appear in an item's tooltip.  For example, I could add a note for a recipe and when I mouse over it, it could say "Soandso needs!"

Please note that I DO HAVE NotesUNeed!  I don't want the tooltip to appear off to one side, or below, or whatever.  I want the note to appear INSIDE the primary tooltip.

I used to have one that I loved.  But then I took a year off from the game, during which time it seems like the coding for add-ons changed and many of the mods I used to have I can no longer find.  This is one I haven't quite find an alternative for yet.  NUN is nice, but ends up cluttering my screen with a lot of text, even when edited so only a certain amount of text shows.  I'd rather have that info in the primary tooltip, not as an extra tooltip appearing to the side.

Hmmm...  I will add this to Iem Notes today or tommorow.

That would be great!  Would it allow me to add my own notes to other things, such as players tooltips?

The one I had before had a window I could open with a list of my custom notes.  Whenever the title of the custom note matched the title at the top of the tooltip, it would appear inside the primary tooltip.  So it worked for anything that gave a tooltip.

If i had the first clue how to create an add-on I might even try making it myself.

What I will do for now will just be for items....    guess I could make a playernote addon as well.. but not sure yet if I will... 

What I am going to do for now will have  you be able to set the note from the command window   something like /itemnote [itemname]  my note

Or will that not do what you want?

That would certainly help.  :)  I can still use NUN for player notes.

After my original post I've continued snooping around to see if I can find something else.  I'm starting to wonder if there's any way of setting an option with notes u need so the notes appear in the primary tooltip instead of to one side.  But I don't think there is.  Overall I like NUN, the ONLY thing that bothers me is the fact I'd rather have the notes I add in the primary tooltip.

Hmm.....   well the design of Item Notes lets you add modules the add lines to the item tooltips,...    in theory it should be possible to make a module that reads the NoteUNeed notes and displayed them...   dont think it makes sense to do player notes in 'item notes' though..   

The NuN note importer might be nice though, and would save me from having to make a gui for Item Notes it seems,  have to look into that also when the realms come back up
