How to add a PayPal button to your Curse AddOn Page
I found it more difficult than it should be to find out how to add a PayPal Donation button to an AddOn page.

For example, the donation details on Curse Forge work OK on that site, but no button appears on the main Curse page.
Your End users aren't aware at all that you can accept donations, and donating to yourself quickly becomes tiresome :P

Also, my first attempt at adding a standard PayPal button to the AddOn Description using SafeHTML Markup ended in a similar failure; the standard PayPal Button code works fine over on Curse Forge (unsafe?), but the button that appears on Curse seems only to refresh the AddOn page (safe?).

I then investigated the Wiki Markup, having seen in another thread that you can include text links, but with warnings that you can not include references to external images that also link to external web sites... thankfully this is untrue.

The code below can be used with the WikiCreole Markup to include something like the standard PayPal graphics button in your AddOn Description.
You need to know your PayPal button ID and substitute it into the this code - otherwise you will be donating to ME :)

Hopefully, these details can also help people wanting to use Pledgie campaigns.

If anyone knows other ways to include PayPal (or Pledgie) Buttons using other Markups, then I'm sure that publishing your methods in this thread might help other people.

Hi,  I wanted to inform you that in the next code push to the website, scheduled for next week, we will be synchronizing the Donation button information from curseforge.com and displaying it prominently on the addon details and download pages.  This will support both PayPal and Pledgie, and should be easier to manage from Curseforge than using a cryptic syntax that may break if changes to the auto-link creation are made.

We would have gotten this change out faster in light of the Blizzard announcement, but are at the end of a development cycle making some radical changes to the curse.com internals for a new portion of the site that will be launching soon.
