Suffice to say, the addons I have found so far fail hard with looting
I am looking into making a new one that will incorporate several key benefits
A: Ability to "show" larger numbers of items, more "efficiently" with a simple setup B: Autoloot (including group loot) functionality
Simply put, it should turn the messy loot list into something like this
Code: + Mail + Leather + Misc
Each of which can be clicked open to show the loot that falls in that area (All autoloot will be handled prior to addition to this list, so that will likely cut down on a lot)
Within the actual loot area will be several buttons
Code: [Always Need] [Always Greed] [Always Pass] [Need] [Greed] [Pass]
The always buttons will allow easy addition of items to the Autoloot portion (as well as working the same as the "standard" ones)
I have a bit of it worked out, but may need some help with the visual side
Got an image of the approximate positioning and setup (Crude, I know...)
The bottom buttons will change, depending on the Tab you are on. On Greed Tab, they will be "Move to Need" "Remove" and "Move to Pass", other tabs will follow suit. All Items will have a link attached (In-game) for easy reference when sorting.
The basic idea is to make it so the loot screen is less cluttered, auto removing the following from the "To Loot" list
A: BoP Stuff you can't use (Some items can sell well, or be Disenchanted of course) B:
Stuff you have no interest in, and don't want it taking up "valuable"
Inventory space. (Gems, Metal, and Cloth are good examples) C: Stuff you DEFINITELY want (Which should be autolooted)
In
theory, after 4 or 5 runs in an area, you will ideally have 90-95% of
the drops sorted into categories, and looting (and loot distribution)
should be relatively quick and painless.
Beyond the "basics" I think the worst part will be the Expanding
list (As mentioned, a simple list, with In-game links, will probably
work to get things started)
