Instead of no update all for non premium why not...

I have read a lot of posts here and I agree with the "I would pay if this updated ALL my addons" but I am wondering about why you disable the update all feature for non premium customers?

We are still going to update all why not make it sequential (aka serial) and throttle? I dont mind if my downloads are slower as I jsut go get a drink or someting while I wait but what reason could you have for not letting it update all? Just make it not download the next one when the previous is done and so on?

Wghat you have no is just a way of alienating those of us who are not paying. And most of us, myself included are not paying becasue we don't want to, we are not paying because you forced this upon us and don't update non curse addons like lightheaded.

Please bring back the update all for non premium members. Once you have a way sorted out to work with wowinterface instead of this silent war you two have, I will happily support this site by paying the premium fee.

Agreed.  Honestly though, I'd just be happy with being able to hit the update button and have it actually update.  More often than not, when I do it just acts as though its updating with nothing actually happening.  Why on earth am I going to pay for a service that rarely works to begin with?

Moved to feedback and not windows support.

I agree with this 100%.

I really like the curse client and want to continue using it, however if no option is available to update all of my addons, even if it is one at a time and slower, I will be switching to the program wowinterface is currently developing (depending on its functionality once released).

Curse client is a program I want to continue using, please dont force me to look elsewhere.

(I can't afford premium and am not considering that as an option, I lost my job and am barely capable of maintaining a wow subscription as is)

It's so much easier to:
1. Go to the questhelper website
2. check to see if QH was updated
3. Download QH
4. Wait 4-5 seconds
5. Extract QH to the addons folder
6. Go to the Prat website
7. Check if Prat was updated
8. Shit I forgot which version i had
9. Log into wow
10. Check addons
11.  Crap!  The version is in the TOC
12. Screw this, I hope it's updated
13. Check kgpanels website
14. Hmmmm..   website is down
15. Retry website
16. Still down, I'll try later
17. Check the Deadly Boss Mod website
18. Which version do I have again?
19. oh yeah, Download the addon
20. extract the addon to your interface folder
21. Sooo Thirsty.....
22. check the X-Perl website....

-40 Addons later-

410. Manually extract Grid to your addons folder.
411. LETS RAID!!!
412. **Edit**, raid ended 20 minutes ago.
413. WTF you mean I lost my raid spot?  I had to update my addons.
414. You mean, there is a program that is free to use that will tell me every 15 minutes if an updated addon has been released?  AND it will let me one click my way to an easy install!?!  Thats HERESY!  YOU'RE A WITCH!!!  BURN THE WITCH! BURN THE WITCH!

Yeah, thats a lot easy than *click*, wait 5 seconds, *click*, wait 5 seconds, *click* wait 20 seconds (QH is big), *click* wait 5 seconds, DONE!

Thank you for the entertaining but useless post spaz.

No one in this thread stated that downloading mods without a client was faster than what the curse client currently offers. Furthermore no one in this thread said they were going to quit using the curse client.

Unlike some other threads this has been focused on an idea that will allow curse to keep their premium service and also keep many of their non paying clientele from switching to another client.

Forgot to mention the entertainment value of your post.

I like OPs idea of sequential downloading.

Think of it to being similar to file download services like rapidshare etc, where depending on whether you are a basic or premium user, you can make a given number of connections at any one time to a server.

Out of interest, I now have over a page of out-of-date addons in curse client as I haven't thought to update them for a while, and would have been much more likely to if i'd had a very simple feature, "update all".
