So here we go. How much of a varied history of MMO’s do you have and can you claim to have actually played such a wide amount that you are a veteran? I think I can. I grew up being taught about tanking, agro management and corpse runs in the school of hard knocks: Everquest 1. Of course many of us did not start there but lets face it, we all learned our lessons and honed our skills there. Sure we can all claim to have played MUDS and garbage like that, but EQ1 brought it to the limelight, forged the sense of community and added a face to the genre. For many of us we will never get that feeling back and I think that is one thing I would like to ramble on about in my second blog entry. MMO players of today are a different breed than they were in 1999. Back then gamers were happy to have a 3D representation of their favorite online RPG, and many were new to owning a Voodoo 3D card.
